Aman Announces Reopening Dates for its Caribbean Hotels Following Hurricanes

Aman Resorts announced Thursday that Amanera in the Dominican Republic will reopen on November 1 and Amanyara in Turks and Caicos will reopen on December 15.

Amanera had a planned closure commencing on September 5 and will reopen, as scheduled, on November 1.

After some planned resort maintenance, as well as required repairs and landscaping as a result of Hurricanes Irma and Maria passing near the coast, Amanera will re-emerge for the winter season.

Details on further planned enhancements for Amanera for 2018 and beyond will be revealed over the coming months. This will include the reopening of the Playa Grande Golf Course in mid-2018 following a full renovation, and newly constructed Aman Residences.

Amanyara was also closed for scheduled maintenance works during the month of September, which meant there were no guests or staff in residence, enabling the teams to better prepare for the passing of Hurricanes Irma and Hurricane Maria.

As a result, Amanyara weathered the storms with minor impact, and efforts now remain focussed on the personal needs of staff, their families and local community.

Amanera and Amanyara represent Aman Resorts only two Caribbean hotels.

"Aman would like to thank their friends around the world for their outpouring of concern and well wishes during this time," according to an official Aman Resorts statement. "As the impacted areas continue to recover, we remain fully committed to our employees and local communities and our thoughts of healing and well-being are with those in the Dominican Republic, Turks and Caicos and neighboring Caribbean islands."
