Club Med Columbus in Bahamas to Reopen on October 22

Club Med Columbus on San Salvador in the Bahamas is set to reopen its doors on October 22, 2022 following its closure in 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past two years, the all-inclusive resort has introduced new offerings for couples, large groups and multigenerational families alike, allowing them to disconnect and embrace holistic wellness experiences, culinary concepts, adventure and Bahamian culture.

The beach resort sports newly refreshed two-story bungalows, and guests can expect new dining concepts and enhanced wellness experiences, besides a range of outdoor activities.

La Pinta, the beach lounge offering all-day dining will introduce new Mediterranean-inspired cuisine with a Bahamian twist, serving seafood paired with spirits. Christopher’s, the main restaurant, will offer international cuisine alongside new plant-based menu items created after intensive training led by vegan chef Chloe Coscarelli.

Club Med’s new “Wellness Fusion” program includes yoga programs, moonlight massages and four holistic treatments at the Club Med Spa by Sothys.

Guests can enjoy activities such as sailing, water skiing and kayaking, besides weekly beach sunset rituals, flyboarding and tennis (on new courts). Destination experiences include new quad tours, where guests will be guided around the island to explore hidden beaches and caves, stopping along the way to dine and mingle with locals.

San Salvador is known for its 35-plus dive sites, and the resort will offer a range of new experiences such as scuba dives at sunset, private boat rides to dive in groups, courses to become PADI certified and a new snorkeling experience in partnership with Only Blue Diving to view coral and marine life.
