Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea Completes Renovation

Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea has completed a $50 million renovation. The project encompassed remodeling 380 guest rooms and suites, including a technology upgrade, with such added features as high definition 42" LG flat-screen TVs and iHome clock/radio/DVD/iPod/MP3 players. Included in the renovation project is a new steak and seafood restaurant, Duo; a rewiring of the entire resort for high-speed wireless access; and three new oceanfront outdoor Hawaiian hales for the spa. (Hales are traditional wood framework Hawaiian structures with a thatched roof.) The hales are constructed in the traditional Hawaiian style without nails or screws by one of the few master hale builders in the world, Francis Sinenci. For spa bookings, contact Pat Makozak, senior spa director, Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, at 808-874-2939, [email protected]. A spokesperson for the resort noted that a standout feature of the renovation is the institution of a museum-quality art collection, featuring works by Hawaii's finest artists. "The artwork is incorporated throughout the accommodations and public areas, and adds a cultural dimension to a guest's stay," she says. The travel agent liaison for the resort is Lenora Yuen, senior sales manager, travel industry, Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea. She can be reached at 714-281-8556 or [email protected].
