Jumeirah's Plans for Bermuda Move Forward

August 9, 2007 By: Joe Pike Travel Agent

Jumeirah, the Dubai-based luxury hotel group, announced that its planned Jumeirah Southlands Resort on the south shore of Bermuda has been given the green light. The first phase of the resort is expected to open in the first quarter of 2009. The property's Bermudian owners-Craig Christensen, Brian Duperault and Nelson Hunt of Southlands Resort-have selected Jumeirah to manage the first new luxury resort to be built in Bermuda in 35 years. The hotelier says Jumeirah Southlands will represent a new standard of luxury experience in the destination and is expected to dramatically raise global awareness of Jumeirah as it rapidly expands its portfolio of international hotels and resorts.
