The Leela Palaces-Hotels-Resorts to Grow Inventory by 100 Percent

The Leela Palaces-Hotels-Resorts, an India-based luxury hotel group whose sales and marketing are handled by Kempinski, has announced an aggressive $300 million expansion plan that will double its room capacity by introducing six new properties to bring its hotel portfolio to 10. The new properties will be in Gurgaon Delhi NCR (to open spring 2008), Udaipur (winter 2008), Chennai (winter 2009), South Delhi (2010) and Pune (2010). The company paid $150 million for the three acres of land in downtown Delhi, the highest price ever paid per acre to date in that city.
