Mondrian Hotel Might Replace Westin in Palm Springs

Travel Agent has heard that the Mondrian Hotel brand is reportedly set to replace plans for a Westin Hotel at the Palm Springs Convention Center. A lot has been going on in the area recently and a Hard Rock Hotel downtown might also add to the list of offerings. In an interview with the local press, Robert Gregson, Mondrian's director of marketing, said that a bar is part of the project, but it's not decided if it would be a Mondrian's trademark Skybar. Travel agents can also find this sleek hotel in Scottsdale and Los Angeles, which are owned and operated by the Morgans Hotel Group. A new Mondrian hotel is also slated for Chicago. Mondrian Chicago will be operated by Morgans Hotel Group under a long-term management contract and is expected to open in 2010. Visit [www.morganshotelgroup.com].
