Outrigger to Manage Wyland Waikiki Hotel

Outrigger Enterprises Group has been tapped to manage the Wyland Waikiki Hotel, replacing Doubletree, which was originally going to manage the property. The property, with more than 400 rooms and suites, is wrapping up a multimillion-dollar upgrade and repositioning with plans to reopen in April. WB-LCP Kuhio Owner, an investment group led by Lodging Capital Partners of Chicago, acquired the hotel in July. The hotel is the state's first to bear the theme of a single artist. Rooms are designed with ocean-hued palettes accented by paintings created by marine artist Wyland, known for such works as whale murals. Additionally, art is being placed throughout the hotel's public areas. Amenities will include free wireless Internet in the lobby and rooms also are being fitted with Internet connections, flat-screen plasma TVs, refrigerators and coffeemakers. Many rooms also will include a microwave and sink. The property has two pools and a whirlpool spa. Opening over the next few months are other venues including a signature restaurant, a specialty coffee shop, a day spa and a fitness center. Visit [www.outrigger.com].
