Ritz-Carlton to Open Second NYC Hotel

A second Ritz-Carlton hotel is coming to New York City. Parent company Marriott International just signed a deal with luxury hospitality development firm Flag Luxury Group to open a new Ritz-Carlton hotel in the NoMad (north of Madison Square Park) neighborhood. The new hotel is scheduled to open in 2021.

Another Ritz-Carlton property in New York City, the Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park, was deflagged earlier this year. It became The Wagner Hotel as of March 29.

The new, $500 million hotel and residences tower, which is already under construction, will be at Broadway and 28th Street. Designed by architect Rafael Vinoly, the project will include 250 hotel rooms and 16 branded residences with interiors by Yabu Pushelberg. At 500 feet tall, the tower will also provide views of the Empire State Building and downtown Manhattan.

Other amenities will include a fine-dining restaurant, the brand’s Club Lounge, a Ritz-Carlton Spa and fitness center and a rooftop bar. There will also be a large public garden and open terraces with greenery and trees, as well as two ballrooms for meetings and events. The property will also be close to Madison Square Park, which is host to a number of public events.

The new hotel will be the second Ritz-Carlton property in New York City, following the Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park. Another property is 30 minutes from Manhattan, in Westchester.
