Sandals Resorts International (SRI) has announced that the fully revamped Sandals Dunn’s River is accepting reservations for arrivals beginning May 24, 2023. Added to the all-inclusive resort company’s portfolio in 1991, Sandals Dunn’s River in Jamaica’s Ocho Rios will reopen as a new resort, says the company.
The 260-key resort has added new suites, including the Tufa SkyPool Butler Suites, which will have oceanfront glass balconies. At the Coyaba Swim-Up Rondoval Butler Suites with Private Pools, standalone villas have been reimagined with vast open-air rooftops featuring private soaking tubs and sun-lounging areas. The Mammee Bay Beachfront Butler Suites will be equipped with spacious balconies overlooking the Caribbean Sea, with gold fixtures and green accents speckled throughout the resort’s various accommodations.
Culinary offerings at Sandals Dunn’s River will include 12 “Global Gourmet” restaurants—with 10 concepts entirely new to Sandals. L’Amande will serve French and Jamaican fare; Edessa will serve Greek cuisine; Banyu will offer an Asian-fusion menu; Zuka will serve Central and South American flavors; and the rustic yet soulful Jerk Shack will offer traditional sweet and peppery delights. At BLŪM café, guests can sip on Jamaica’s Blue Mountain coffee and nitro cold brew, with island-inspired treats.
There will be nine bars, including the Dunn’s Rum Club; the Laughing Waters beach bar will offer bed-style seating; the rooftop bar, Ocarina; and the Lapidus Lounge, which pays homage to architect Morris Lapidus who designed the resort when it was first built as the Arawak Hotel in the 1950s.
Cascading waters collected from the Dunn’s River Falls will greet guests upon arrival, with all water features sourced from the natural reserves of the rivers throughout the resort. Featuring a glass-panel edge, the pool will be leveled to the sand, and is one of five pools on site. The Red Lane Spa will also debut at Sandals Dunn’s River.
Guests can participate in the “Stay at One, Play at All Sandals” exchange program and check out additional Sandals Resorts in the area with complimentary transfers between resorts in Ocho Rios. Travelers can land right in Ocho Rios with American Airlines’ new service from Miami on flight AA4007 with faster processing times, shorter lines and private transfers before and after their vacation.
Guests booking a stay at Sandals Dunn’s River until August 31, 2022, will receive a “Grand Opening Offer” with instant credit savings of up to $605 off on stays of seven paid nights or longer. The offer can be clubbed with other Sandals’ saving promotions for travel May 24, 2023 through December 31, 2025. Returning guests with “Sandals Select Reward” membership will receive a complimentary Dunn’s River catamaran cruise for two.
