Seminole Tribe of Florida Acquires Hard Rock International

The Seminole tribe of Florida acquired world famous Hard Rock International for $965 million from the Rank Group. This marks the first purchase of major multinational corporation by a Native American Tribe. The Seminole tribe of Florida, which currently operates two Hard Rock casino resorts, receives 90 percent of its revenues from gaming, but said the acquisition of 124 Hard Rock Cafes and seven hotels and casinos would provide diversification sought by its Tribal Council.
