Tours of Iceland's Volcanoes

March 29, 2010 By: Jena Tesse Fox

It was only a matter of time: Now that Iceland's volcanic eruptions have been ongoing for a few days, several companies have organized tours to the seismic activity in Fimmvorduhals, a pass between the glaciers Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull in southern Iceland.

Reykjavik Excursions has several tours that use jeeps, helicopters, buses and snowmobiles to get thrill-seekers close to the action. Nordic Visitor also has planes at its disposal to take guests right above the eruption. The tours range from less than two hours to full-day excursions, and prices range from less than $80 to $568.
