Bangalore is taking the next leap into the 21st century with the launch of its own metro rail service, according to the BBC.
The 4.1-mile stretch of track has six stations and runs from MG Road in the center with Baiyappanahalli Terminal in the east. This is just the first part of a proposed 26-mile network, which is slated to be completed by 2014.
The BBC reports that the metro line will be able to carry 30,000 passengers a day, which will greatly alleviate some of the congestion in Bangalore.
