India Hotels Will be More Accessible Next Year

In a move that may be great news to some of your less mobile clients, India’s Tourism Ministry has mandated that all hotels classifed between one and five stars provide basic access for physically challenged people.

According to the report in the Hindustan Times, the hotels must comply by September 2010.

All hotels higher than ground plus two floors will have to have a 24x7 lift and where local laws do not permit this, establishments will have to provide "easy access for differently abled guests," say the new guidelines.
