The Cruise Lines International Association has opened nominations for its eleventh annual Hall of Fame Awards. The awards recognize individuals who either presently or in the past have made a significant contribution to the cruise industry.

Those who are nominating are asked to write a short essay — about 50 words — that highlights the potential winner and his or her contributions to the industry.

The award categories are as follows:

- Cruise Retailer Award: Someone who sells cruise vacations and has positioned themselves as a leader in vacation sales and distribution.

- Cruise Line Executive Award: A cruise line executive whose leadership has helped shape the cruise industry.

- Cruise Sales Innovator Award: A cruise vacation retailer who has been innovative and has pioneered categories, ideas and programs that have helped the cruise industry grow.

The CLIA Trade Relations Committee will judge nominees in three main ways.

- Did the nominee’s accomplishments change or affect the cruise industry in a positive way?
- Why is the nominee considered to be a positive role model?
- What did the nominee accomplish that set him or her apart from others in the industry?

The winners will be honored at a gala dinner during the CLIA Cruise3sixity Conference in Ft. Lauderdale on April 23.
