First Look: Ko'a Kea Hotel & Resort on KauaiApril 16, 2009 By: Travel Agent Central Contributor Travel Agent
Ko'a Kea Hotel & Resort debuted April 14 after an extensive multi-million-dollar reconstruction. Using the footprint of the former Poipu Beach Hotel, Koa Kea is designed for the boutique luxury, offering 121 redesigned guest rooms and suites, as well as a new restaurant and luxury spa facility. The resort’s proximity to the Pacific Ocean provides guests with incredible ocean views.
Take a closer look at the property in the slide show below:
Designer Anita Brooks (Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas and Red Rock Hotel and Casino) created a coastal refuge inspired by the essence and landscape of Hawaii. The new restaurant, Red Salt, is named for the island’s uniquely colored salt and features a dynamic menu by Executive Chef Ronnie Sanchez, previously of the three-star Michelin rated El Bulli in Spain.
The Spa at Ko’a Kea offers an sanctuary with a focus on natural and indigenous ingredients, such as seaweed, pineapple, Awapuhi root, Red Kauai clay, guava and coconut. The Spa offers a variety of services that are available inside one of the five treatment rooms, or can be arranged oceanside.
To commemorate the opening, the hotel is offering two special introductory packages:
* The “Isle See You at Poipu” package offers a reduced nightly rate of $299 (regularly $445) in a Garden View Room, exclusive of tax and resort fees, and is valid through June 30.
* The “Room with a View” package offers an upgrade at the time of booking from Garden View Room to Partial Ocean View, or Partial Ocean View to Ocean View when booked at regularly published rates starting at $445, and is valid through December 18.
