During our ongoing coverage of the 13th annual Luxury Travel Expo at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Travel Agent sat down with representatives of Avoya Travel to discuss the company's new Instant Commission Program.

Up until now, travel agencies have had to wait on vendors for weeks or months after making a booking before collecting any commission. But now, Avoya Travel’s network of independent agencies can receive commission immediately after the booking is made.

"Its non uncommon in today's industry where some will book something today and then not receive a commission until September," Brad Anderson, co-president of Avoya Travel, told Travel Agent. "This changes all of that. If you book something today, (the commission payment will be direct deposited on the Thursday following the day of the booking)."

The Instant Commission program is another innovative step in Avoya Travel’s continued commitment to its unique Shared Success model, Anderson says.

"We'e been innovators in everything we've done," he says. "And because of all of these initiates we've implemented, including this one, our independent affiliates have never had a better year."

In fact, Anderson says his affiliates have made more than $200 million in sales this year. The largest year before this one was roughly $150 million in sales.

"When you book is no longer relevant. Just booking in general is all that matters now," says Scott Koepf, vice president of sales for Avoya. "There was a motivation issue and there was a cash flow issue and I think we handled both in one shot with this new program."
