Six Senses Resorts and Spas has announced that its five-star Evason brand will be introduced to the Maldives with the new Evason Laamu. The new property will be on Olhuveli Island in the Thaa Atoll, to the south of the Indian Ocean archipelago nation. Evason Laamu will consist of 130 villas, 22 of which are on the beach, all with private plunge pools and gardens. The over-water villas will have glass dining tables which allow views to the coral and marine life below the deck. They will also include outdoor rain showers, water gardens, private sundecks and outdoor seating areas. Evason Laamu will feature an underwater restaurant which converts to a lounge, an above water restaurant with cooking hut, ice cream parlour, pastry shop, White and Brown Bars and a Chef's Table. A Six Senses Spa will be a key element of the resort.
