Occidental Vacation Club Announces Re-Opening of Grand Nuevo Vallarta Resort Following $12 Million Project

Occidental Vacation Club, a division of Occidental Hotels and Resorts, has announced the re-grand opening of its all-inclusive property in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.

Located on the famed Bay of Banderas and surrounded by deep blue water and the tropical vegetation of the Mexican Pacific, the 20-year-old Grand Nuevo Vallarta has been made new again with a total refurbishment of its 270 rooms and suites, new lobby, three bars and most of its five restaurants. Some other notable changes to the resort include four all-new restaurants and a fashionable new lobby bar.

The renovations are part of an ongoing commitment by the growing Vacation Club to invest in upgrading its existing properties, while adding on to its existing collection of 11 properties.

“This is not just a remodel," said Luis Namnum, president of the club, in a written release. “This is for all practical purposes a brand new resort. We completely gutted out and remodeled all the club units; the lobby; all four restaurants, added a new lobby lounge and beach bar.”

Occidental Grand Nuevo Vallarta is the sixth Occidental Grand property in the hotel collection, joining two others in Mexico, Occidental Grand Xcaret and Occidental Grand Cozumel. The others include Occidental Grand Aruba; Occidental Grand Papagayo in Costa Rica; and Occidental Grand Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Although the resort is part of a Vacation Club, which offers exclusive features and amenities to its members, it is open to the public for all-inclusive vacations.
