Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo Gets New Director of Sales & Marketing

In Monaco, the Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo has just appointed Pauline Bergé as director of sales and marketing.

The Dutch-born Bergé completed her education and professional training at the European School of Brussels and at Les Roches School in Switzerland, before commencing an international career, where she has most notably worked in the United States and in the Middle East.

Bergé first worked on several association projects for the Hilton Group in Belgium. She then moved to Dubai where, over the five years spent within the group on site, she was appointed leisure sales manager. In 1998, she joined the Dubai Tourist Office charged with promoting the destination to the travel agents and tour operators in the United States. At the same time, she started distance learning and graduated from Les Roches School with an MBA in Business Administration.

In 2003, Bergé headed back to the Middle East to join the IHG Group as director of sales and marketing of the Crowne Plaza Muscat in Oman. She contributed highly to the repositioning of the hotel, raising the property to the status of a five-star hotel. In 2005, Bergé was promoted to the position of area director of sales and marketing for the group’s five properties located in the Sultanate of Oman. Part of her responsibilities included the sales and marketing strategy for the new Al Bustan Palace which re-opened in 2008, following a complete and major renovation program.

In 2009, Bergé left the Sultanate of Oman to join the pre-opening team of the Mandarin Oriental Jnan Rahma in Marrakech as the hotel’s director of sales and marketing.

Bergé is fluent in Dutch, English, French and German.
