Moroccan National Tourist Office Opens in U.S.

May 1, 2008 By: Mackenzie Allison

In an attempt to further boost the number of American travelers to Morocco, the Moroccan National Tourist Office has returned to New York City since closings its office in 2001. The country's Vision 2010 Plan, a strategy developed in 2003 after the global travel recovery began, has an intended goal of boosting Morocco's tourism arrivals to 10 million by 2010. Six new Atlantic and Mediterranean coastal resorts are planned to open, the first of which will open in Saidia in 2009. Thirty-thousand beds will also add to Morocco's inventory via new development in the country's cultural destinations. Rachid Maaninou has been named the director of the Americas for the Moroccan National Tourist Office.
