Kakadu Goes Live

Kakadu National Park is bringing its residents closer to the curious eyes of web surfers and potential visitors thanks to a new web cam. The Kakadu Cam, [] provides live images and audio of native wildlife in this World Heritage park. The camera operates in real time; future plans call for webcam visitors to be able to talk with park rangers and hear traditional stories from Aboriginal elders. National Geographic worked with Tourism Australia and Tourism Northern Territory, Kakadu National Park and the traditional Aboriginal owners of Kakadu on the project. National Geographic says this will be the first of a series of webcam projects to be developed in Australia.
