New Scandic Hotel to Open in Norway

January 9, 2012 By: Jena Tesse Fox

Good news from Norway: Scandic, a Scandinavian hotel brand, and Øgreid Eiendom have signed a contract to build a new hotel in the center of Stavanger, due to open in 2013.

The property will have 210 rooms, including some for disabled guests, as well as a restaurant, lobby bar and meeting rooms. (Meeting facilities will cater to up to 300 people.) The building will also have a underground garage (great for January) and a gym.

Scandic’s Country Vice President in Norway, Svein Arild Steen-Mevold, said in a statement that the brand was “growing rapidly in Norway," and had added seven new hotels to its portfolio since 2010.
