Aston Hotels & Resorts announced today the return of the Waikiki Beachside Hotel to the Aston portfolio of hotels and condominium resorts.
“The Aston Waikiki Beachside Hotel is located in the center of Kalakaua Avenue, directly across from one of the world’s most famous beaches, Waikiki,” said Kelvin Bloom, president of Aston Hotels & Resorts. “We’re embarking on the initial phase of hotel renovations with exciting details to be announced in early 2011.”
Some construction is tentatively scheduled to begin January 5 on the 11th floor, and should last for two weeks, according to the hotel's website.
Neighboring attractions include the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, the Ala Wai Golf Course and the 200-acre Kapiolani Park with running paths, the Zoo Fence Art Mart, sporting events, and free Sunday concerts at the Kapiolani Bandstand, featuring the Royal Hawaiian Band. Nightly torch lighting and sunset hula performances take place, beachside, directly across Kalakaua Avenue from the hotel.
