NCL Welcomes Return of Norwegian SkyMay 6, 2008 By: David Eisen
Norwegian Sky sails again. NCL Corp. has announced that the former Pride of Aloha will be reflagged with its old name, Norwegian Sky, the moniker it held before the ship was deployed to operate inter-island Hawaii cruises in 2004. The ship will begin sailing three- and four-day cruises to the Bahamas from Miami this year in mid-July, after a wet dock where it will be outfitted with a casino and NCL's Freestyle 2.0 enhancements. The ship's itineraries are now on sale and fares start from $229 per person for an inside room and $329 per person for a balcony stateroom.
NCL is also offering a "Kids Sail Free Summer Vacation" promotion for bookings made on Norwegian Sky through May 31. Children up to 17 years old will be eligible to sail for free.
Norwegian Sky will depart Miami on Mondays sailing four-day Bahamas cruises to Grand Bahama Island, Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, NCL's owned island. On Fridays, the ship will sail a three-day itinerary departing Miami at 5 p.m. with stops in Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, before returning at 7 a.m. on Mondays, ideal for a weekend getaway. The sailings are scheduled through April 17, 2009. Visit www.ncl.com.
