Norwegian Star Assistant Cruise Director Arrested for Child Pornography

Federal agents have arrested Senad Djedovic, 29, the Norwegian Star's assistant cruise director, at the Port of Tampa.

He allegedly had sexual contact with a 16-year-old female passenger on the ship's Jan. 29 cruise and reportedly saved sexually explicit photographs of the teenager on his computer.

The teen, who was not identified, was traveling on the cruise with her parents. The family is from Minnesota.

For now, Djedovic - a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina - is charged with possessing child pornography in a United States maritime jurisdiction.

The situation unraveled on Feb. 27 when a Norwegian crew member alerted the ship's security staff that Djedovic had showed photos of the teen to several crew members.

The cruise line alerted the FBI. For the full story in the Tampa Bay Times, go here: www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/fbi-cruise-employee-saved-sexually-explicit-photos-of-16-year-old-passenger/1218487

Norwegian's statement on the arrest is as follows:

"As soon as officers on Norwegian Star were alerted to this matter, the company took immediate action, conducting an internal investigation and reporting the outcome to the federal authorities. The company continued to assist with the federal investigation which led to the arrest of the crew member.

"Norwegian Cruise Line has a policy of zero tolerance for crew and guest fraternization and will continue to fully cooperate with federal authorities in any subsequent prosecution."
