The Kona Village Resort on the Big Island is changing hands in a transaction expected to close the first week in March. Ty Warner owns the oceanfront resort, known for its tropical ambiance and cottages. The purchaser is Kona Village Investors, whose members include Rockpoint Group and Dell Computer founder Michael Dell's MSD Capital. Warner will retain an economic interest in the property. Dell already owns the neighboring Hualalai Resort and Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. In addition to owning an upscale hotel company, Warner is known for his creation of Beanie Babies.
