Travcoa has identified three significant trends in the luxury travel market: exotic destinations, custom itineraries, and river cruises. As a result, Travcoa has created a 2014 product line-up, which is now available for booking that focuses on these trends and consumer preferences.
In terms of unique and exotic destinations, Asia, Europe and Africa have all shown sizeable increases in booking percentages. In Asia, popular Escorted Journey itineraries include Road to Mandalay featuring Myanmar and Thailand, Mystifying Bhutan, and Intriguing Indochina. The Intriguing Indochina itinerary, which currently explores Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand, will be enhanced in 2014 with a luxury river cruise down the Mekong River from Siem Reap, Cambodia to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The 2014 European itineraries will include Along the Dalmatian Coast, an in-depth look at Croatia, Montenegro, and Slovenia; Mystery, Legend and Tradition, an itinerary filled with food, culture and history, and the capital cities and little-known villages of Romania and Bulgaria; and Legends of the Russian Czars, an exploration of “Mother Russia”. In 2014, Travcoa will introduce a new trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Finally, Tavcoa is offering African journeys such as Essence of South Africa with an extension option into the Kalahari Desert; and Grand Safari: Kenya and Tanzania, which includes a descent into the 2,000 feet deep Ngorongoro Crater. New in 2014, Botswana’s Wild Kingdom will feature Victoria Falls and an option to extend into Botswana’s Kalahari Desert. In addition, a cultural safari to Ethiopia, the ‘Cradle of Civilization,’ will be introduced.
With multi-generational travel on the rise, Travcoa has seen an 80 percent increase in Tailor-Made custom journeys since October 1, 2012. The regions with the greatest increase in growth are South America (up 436 percent), the Middle East (up 207 percent) and Europe (up 119 percent).
In 2014, Travcoa will introduce two new river cruise/tour itineraries. The first, is Bucharest to Bavaria: A Danube Odyssey. The second is The Blue Danube: The Majesty & Music of Central Europe.
