Portugal's Pousadas de Portugal, a network of some 40 traditional hotels, announced the opening of a new property on the island of Terceira. The 29-room Pousada de Angra is located in a 16th-century fortress overlooking the Atlantic, in the city of Angra de Heroismo (a UNESCO World Heritage site) on the island of Terceira. The island is part of the Azores chain in the Atlantic, Europe's closest point to the U.S. The hotel will also include a swimming pool and a restaurant serving regional specialties.
