Travel Club Hit with $64 million verdict

A Texas travel club, Sun Country Travel, was hit with a $64 million jury verdict this week for selling "free" vacations that included hidden fees, the Associated Press is reporting. Sun Country Travel also falsely claimed that its activities were approved by the state attorney general's office and Better Business Bureau. The verdict includes $15.2 million in civil penalties and $49 million in restitution. Sun Country Travel sold about 6,000 memberships at a cost of $4,000 each, the AP reported.
