Rail Operator Expands Tours

GrandLuxe Rail Journeys, a private rail tour operator, has expanded its offerings with 10 new itineraries. The Evergreen, CO-based company is now offering two- and three-day trips and has added three new itineraries to its original seven- to 10-day trips throughout the Western United States, the company said, noting that the additions represent a five-fold increase in the number of departures offered by GrandLuxe. The shorter trips, called GrandLuxe Limited, were created out of customer demand and include such routes as Chicago to San Francisco and Washington, D.C. to Miami. "Feedback from travel agents and customers prompted us to add these shorter and more affordable itineraries," said GrandLuxe CEO Tom Rader. "There are so many people interested in luxury train trips, but who are stymied by time and price constraints. We are thrilled that now, a much broader market will be able to experience luxury train travel." GrandLuxe Limited will operate using a separate, private luxury train car attached to the back of scheduled Amtrak trains. Prices range from $789 to $2,499 per person. New longer itineraries include a seven-day trip from Santa Fe, NM to Seattle; Scottsdale, AZ to Santa Fe; and Seattle to San Francisco Bay. Call 800-320-2406 or visit [www.grandluxerail.com].
