From new themed itineraries to high-level amenities for guests in suite accommodations, the just-released 2016 brochure from American Queen Steamboat Company offers a comprehensive look at the line's fifth season.
Highlights of the 76-page brochure include a look at Commodore Services, which offer high-level amenities to guests staying in suite-level accommodations onboard the American Queen and the American Empress. Commodore Services feature special access to the pre-voyage hotel’s club lounge, access to private voyage check-in and pre-boarding privileges, a bottle of wine from the region or fruit basket upon arrival, preferred dining arrangements, reserved balcony seating in the Grand Saloon theater or The Show Lounge theater, a private reception with senior officers of the ship and River Butler services for those staying in Luxury Suite.
The 2016 brochure also has a look at the line's "Mighty Mississippi Voyages," itineraries that span the length of the river on northbound and southbound routes lasting three weeks, as well as new themed voyages onboard the American Queen. The theme voyages include “Presidents & Politics,” which explores the history of the American presidency, “Holiday-Christmas Markets,” which features an exclusive lineup of Christmas markets offering music, seasonal goods and locally produced crafts, and, finally, “Five Rivers of the Heartland,” which allows guests the opportunity to sail the Mississippi, Illinois, Ohio, Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers in one voyage.
The 223-guest American Empress will sail its third season in the Pacific Northwest beginning March 19, 2016. Embarking on stops along the Columbia and Snake Rivers, such as Multnomah Falls, Mt. St. Helens and the Walla Walla Wine Trail, the riverboat will offer 32 departure dates sailing between Portland/Vancouver, WA and Clarkston, WA. The season begins and ends with two roundtrip Portland itineraries featuring the highlights of Astoria, The Dalles, Stevenson and Portland.
Embarking on her fifth season on February 18, 2016, the American Queen stops along the Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee and Cumberland rivers. With 46 total itineraries in 2016, each voyage offers history- and culture-focused perks, from pre-cruise hotel stays in New Orleans to tracing the steps of Mark Twain in Hannibal, MO.
