liz tauck waltersLiz Tauck Walters, a Board Director at her family’s travel company and a granddaughter of company founder Arthur Tauck, Sr., will serve as godmother to the second of Tauck’s two new Inspiration Class riverboats launching in 2014, Tauck reports.

Walters is the third daughter of company chairman Arthur Tauck, Jr. to serve as godmother for a Tauck riverboat, following Kiki Tauck Mahar (godmother of the Swiss Jewel) and Robin Tauck (godmother of the Treasures). Lee Tauck, mother of the three sisters, served as godmother of the Swiss Sapphire.

“It really is an honor to serve as the godmother to this beautiful new ship,” said Tauck Walters. “Tauck riverboats have set the standard for elegance and style while still being incredibly warm, intimate and welcoming. The Savor continues that tradition, and I’m so excited to see her join our fleet.”

The new Savor and Inspire together comprise Tauck’s new Inspiration Class ships. Both ships are 443 feet long and each has a capacity of just 130 guests, Tauck said. In addition to launching its two new ships, Tauck has also launched four new river cruise itineraries this year, including its first on the River Seine in France; "Rendezvous on the Seine" and "Cruising the Seine, plus Versailles, Paris & London."

The company said it will also be adding two additional cruises in 2015, including “Belle Epoch: London to Monte-Carlo.” This unique 23-day itinerary begins with a two-night stay at London’s The Savoy before sailing along the Seine and the Rhone (aboard the Swiss Sapphire and Swiss Emerald, respectively).

Designed specifically for families, Tauck’s second new itinerary for 2015 is the eight-day “Castles on the Rhine: Family Riverboat Adventure” from Basel to Amsterdam aboard Tauck’s new Inspire riverboat.
