Pandaw Announces ‘The Mekong to China’ Journey

Mekong to ChinaPandaw has recently announced a new seven-night river cruise itinterary on the Upper Mekong River in 2016.

Travelers will sail aboard the brand new Laos Pandaw, stopping in Chiang Saen, in Thailand, Burma and continuing on to Laos before crossing the border into China to the city of Jinghong in China’s Yunnan Province. Eight departure dates are scheduled between February 29 and April 18, 2016.

Trip highlights include visits to Old Mandalay Road (Burma); Muang Long and Aka tribal villages (Laos); Menglun Bontanical Garden, Manting Park Temple, Mangfeilong Monastery & Tea Plantation and Jinghong (China).

Pandaw will also be offering pre- and post-cruise extensions with a private vehicle and guide visiting Kunming, Dali and Lijiang in Yunnan Province and the hill tribes of Northern Thailand.

The anticipated itinerary is as follows:

  • Downstream departure dates 2016 – March 2 and 21 and April 4 and 18

Day 1    Embark Jinghong, China
Day 2    Mangfeilong Monastery and tea plantation, China
Day 3    Cruise the Upper Mekong River. Visit Mengzhan.
Day 4    Menglun Botanical Garden, China. Cross the border to Laos
Day 5    Muang Long, Laos
Day 6    Cruising the Mekong with village stops
Day 7    Old Mandalay Road, Burma
Day 8    Disembark Chiang Saen, Thailand
