Stats: Top Fourth of July 2019 Travel Destinations

The July Fourth travel weekend is almost here, and CheapOair has rounded up an analysis of the top 10 destinations travelers are headed to this weekend, based on its internal booking data.

According to the report, Los Angeles is the most popular July Fourth travel destination this year, most likely due in part to a 14 percent decline in average airfares compared to last summer. Orlando, which topped the list in 2018, fell to ninth place this year, despite having the most affordable airfares of all the destinations in this year’s top 10 list, at an average of $221.

In a written statement Tom Spagnola, CheapOair's senior vice president of supplier relations, noted that many of the most popular summer destinations are seeing a decline in airfares this year. Las Vegas, for example, has seen a 33 percent decrease in average airfare this summer, and it is now the second most-booked destination for the July Fourth weekend.
