Trademark Tours will mark its 10th anniversary of “The Hahvahd Tour,” beginning on March 1. Don’t let the spelling confuse you, this tour is lead by current Harvard students. Guests will get a theatrical, entertaining tour of Harvard University and the Harvard Square area.
The tour includes stops at Widener Library, John Harvard Statue, Memorial Hall and more. For fun, visitors will also hear about famous pranks and legendary school secrets. These tours run daily from March through December. Tours (which only cost $10) begin at 1376 Massachusetts Ave, outside the Main Harvard Red Line subway station. This is a Moroccan chophouse -- the setting is ornate and immediately gives diners a sense of place. The food is made from scratch and uses a range of exotic spices (yum). For the complete experience, our insider suggests visiting on Thursday and Sunday at 8 p.m. or on Friday and Saturday at either 7:30 or 9:30 p.m. This is when there are live belly dancing routines. As for what to order, try the Couscous Royal (braised lamb shank in honey, rosemary, and spiced Merguez).
Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar

This oyster bar feels like an authentic neighborhood spot with its tacos, raw bar and tequila. The best part? This hotspot is open until 1 a.m. (Monday through Friday) and it serves brunch on the weekends. If you are coming for that late-night drink, remember that any of the tequilas on the tequila menu can be made into a margarita. There is also a “Woah Baby” menu filled with top tequilas.

This Parisian-inspired bistro is rumored to be one of the best brunch places in the city. Though, it also serves lunch and dinner. Maybe what makes it so popular is its vibrant atmosphere, when it's filled (which is often) patrons will brushing shoulders. The wines are all hand picked from France and California, and the food is sourced from local farms. Note: This restaurant recently closed for renovations, but it will reopen in about two months.

The best way to describe this bar is like a traditional biergarten meets European tavern. Guests can order German cuisine here, as well as a selection of different beers. The interior is full of the owner’s family heirlooms and the adjacent biergarten overlooks the popular Union Square. Visitors can order dinner and brunch as well. Tip: reservations for the dining room or communal tables can be made at 617-776-9900. Reservations are not accepted for the biergarten or the bar.

This is the place to order a custom cocktail. We hear that there really isn’t a set menu. Instead, patrons order based on the flavors they like and leave the rest up to the mixologists. The bar is also never too full, since the bar limits the visitors like a restaurant. That being said, guests may have to wait outside. This spot isn’t for a quick drink -- we suggest taking small sips and relaxing in for the evening.

This neighborhood dive bar serves beers on draft. We also hear the appetizers are delicious, including the truffle fries. Need a venue for an event? Anchovies can be booked any night of the week. Tip: Any item on the menu can be ordered to go, perfect for a late-night snack.
