Elevation Hotel, Crested Butte

A slope-side suite at Elevation Hotel at Crested Butte Mountain Resort

At southwestern Colorado’s Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Elevation Hotel & Spa is currently offering 12 percent commission to travel agents booking through Crested Butte Vacations, valid for travel dates through April 4, 2010. The resort, which was once a Club Med, today is Crested Butte’s sole full-service, ski-in/ski-out hotel.

The property’s 262 rooms and King Suites have king beds, refrigerators, irons and ironing boards, coffeemakers and safes. Bathrooms have Kohler soaking tubs, showers with extra-large shower- heads and Gilchrist & Soames Spa Therapy Collection toiletries. If your clients are traveling in a group or with family, suggest the Presidential Suite (#558)—a spacious two-bedroom, three-bath suite with fireplace, full kitchen, dining area and a large living room. But for avid skiers, any of the Summit one-bedroom slope-side suites—the hotel’s most-requested accommodations—will do nicely. (If your clients are more interested in the view, suggest any of the one-bedroom suites ending in 02 and 04—these have amazing views of the Whetstone and Axtel mountains and the town of Crested Butte.)

Rest and Relaxation

While the extreme terrain of Crested Butte attracts diehard ski buffs, the resort also welcomes families. Its children’s ski school and day-care operation is complemented by many special activities like tubing and a “Kids’ Night on the Town” program. The swimming pool, hot tub and onsite restaurant, 9380 Prime, are all added draws.

Adults can end a day on the slopes with a visit to Elevation’s 11,000-square-foot spa just steps from the mountain. The Elevation Spa has nine therapy rooms, two of which are available for couples treatments.

Included with any spa service is full use of the pool, hot tub and fitness center. Before and after their treatments, clients can lounge in one of three tranquil relaxation rooms and listen to soft music while sipping from a selection of beverages. Guests can also enjoy Elevation’s fitness center, with more than 200 pieces of exercise equipment.

The Elevation Hotel is open seasonally, from Memorial Day through October for summer and fall activities, and from December through April for prime ski season. It’s busiest the week after Christmas, and General Manager Lynn Kiklevich (970-349-4680, [email protected]) suggests booking 90 days ahead to get the best rooms for these dates. Agents can contact Lindsay Gillon (970-349-4157, [email protected]) or call the agent-specific reservations phone number is 888-879-7316.
