Intimate Food, Wine Cruise Itinerary Launches in France

March 8, 2010 By: Staff

Fine wine + fine dining + initimate cruise ship experience in France = great new itinerary to pitch to your clients. The brand new eight-passenger Burgundy barge Savoir Vivre has released a dine-around South Burgundy itinerary for 2010, for food-loving couples, groups, and/or families who want to float, bicycle and sightsee by day and "dine around" in Burgundy by night.

Dinner will be taken at authentic auberges known only to discerning locals - some deep in untouched countryside, some canal front. Barging legend Francois Everson will operate Savoir Vivre, calling on 20 years in Burgundy and personal contacts to present the best vineyards, markets, chateaux and dining venues.

Savoir Vivre is modern and comfortable, with quality wood paneling and decorator fabrics used throughout. Not a square inch of the intimate space is wasted as the kitchen is "hidden", the salon converts to a dining room in minutes, and the cabins boast good storage space, quality bedding, the right lighting and modern, tiled en-suite baths.

Breakfast and lunch will be on Savoir Vivre, and guests will enjoy dinner at such venues as Auberge Saint Martin (hidden in a tiny village and known only to insiders), dine on the terrace at L'Eire du Temps (surrounded by centuries old buildings) and indulge in the unique setting of the Chateau Saint Sabine in the Medieval village of Chateaux-en-Auxois.

Six-night cruises depart every Sunday from Dijon for the 2010 dates, April 18 to October 24. The charter price for eight guests is $20,000 - and does not include the cost of six dinners off the barge. Guests settle directly with the restaurants.
