South African Airways is launching a "Visit Southern Africa" program, which it hopes will boost more tourism to countries lying within southern Africa. The program will offer a value-added air and land packages to places such as South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Victoria Falls and Zambia. The program is being done in conjunction with the Star Alliance, which South African Airways recently joined. SAA operates the only nonstop service to South Africa from Washington, D.C., and daily wide-body departures from New York to Johannesburg.
