Richard Branson’s Son Bunyola Estate Opens

July 13, 2016 By: Bob Curley

Richard Branson owns a lot of homes all over the world, and Virgin Limited Edition gives travelers a real taste of vacationing like a billionaire. The latest additions to the collection are a pair of new villas on the Son Bunyola Estate in Mallorca, which Branson bought 13 years ago, sold to a wealthy couple, and reacquired last year.

The villas are named Sa Punta De S’Aguila and Sa Terra Rotja — “Eagle’s Point” and “red earth,” respectively. Both are located on the grounds of the former vineyard and olive oil farm, which centers on a historic Finca farmhouse amid fields of grapevines and citrus, olive, and almond trees. The estate is on the northwest coast of Mallorca, between the ocean and the Tramuntana mountains.

Clients seeking a peaceful Mallorca getaway with family or friends in an exclusive seaside setting will love both of these villas, but each has its unique selling points. Sa Terra Rotja, which has four bedrooms and a private heated pool, is just steps from the beach (better for walking than sunbathing — it’s pebbles, not sand). The villa sleeps up to eight adults; rates for a seven-night stay start at a shade under $20,000 and include all meals (highlighted by dinner at a local restaurant on one night); drinks, including sparkling local Spanish wine; and concierge, housekeeping, and pool maintenance services.

Sa Punta de S’Aguila is further from the shore but bigger, even more secluded, and has spectacular views of the mountains and the sea: the five-bedroom villa sleeps 10 and features a heated pool and a kitchen, living room, and dining area. Inclusive rates start at around $24,250. Guests of both villas have the run of the estate (except for the main house, which is private) and share use of the private tennis courts.

What do you think of this $type?
