Carnival Cruise Lines President Gerry Cahill spoke at a brief press conference in Miami on Tuesday evening. He said Carnival has arranged 1,500 hotel rooms in Mobile and New Orleans for Carnival Triumph guests, who will disembark the stricken ship in Mobile on Thursday.

A strong current has pushed Carnival Triumph - without propulsion in the Gulf of Mexico after a Sunday engine room fire - 90 miles further north in the Gulf of Mexico. So tug boats will tow the ship to Mobile, AL, for a Thursday arrival.
