March 20, 2012 By: George Dooley Travel Agent

Amadeus has announced its new four-city roadshow series “Amadeus Back to Basics 2012.” The events are designed to show North American travel agencies how they can get back to the basics of growing their business through the use of efficient and effective technology solutions, Amadeus says.
“Our roadshow series this year focuses on empowering travel agencies in the U.S. and Canada to advance their business and better serve their customers by pushing their technology forward. And Amadeus technology solutions make it easy because advanced doesn’t have to mean complicated,” said Scott Gutz, president and CEO of Amadeus North America. This is the third year Amadeus has conducted roadshows in the region.
The interactive roadshow events will give travel agents the opportunity to talk in person with Amadeus executives, product experts and sales representatives, while also providing an up-close look at the latest in travel technology solutions and services. “Amadeus Back to Basics 2012” events are currently scheduled to take place from 5:30pm-8:00pm in the following locations:

March 29th: New York, Marriott Marquis Hotel
April 11th: Chicago, Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel
May 16th: Los Angeles, Marina del Rey Marriott Hotel
May 30th: Toronto, The Fairmont Royal York Hotel

Agents can learn more about how they can advance their business with Amadeus’ new and easy-to-use front-office solutions, e-commerce tools, and customer support offerings. Amadeus said it will demonstrate many of its flagship technology solutions including Amadeus Selling Platform Connect, Amadeus Vacation Link, and Amadeus Agenta, as well as preview new tools coming soon to North American travel agencies.
Attendees will be able to meet with Amadeus executives, industry partners and colleagues; take advantage of show-only Amadeus business offers; and enter into onsite drawings for cash gift cards, airline tickets, hotel stays, iPads and more, Amadeus says.
Roadshow event sponsor partners and prize contributors include: ACE Rent A Car, Air Canada Vacations, ATA Consortium,  Avis Budget Rent A Car, British Airways, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Economy Rent A Car, Fox Rent A Car, Hertz, Hyatt Miami at the Blue, Hyatt Regency Chicago, LAN Airlines, Porter Airlines, Radisson Aqua Blu Hotel, Spirit Airlines and UNIGLOBE Travel Eastern Canada.
For travel professionals who can’t attend one of the roadshow events in person, Amadeus will also be presenting a “virtual” Back to Basics event on June 27th from 2:00 – 6:00pm EST, which will also be available for on-demand viewing afterward. The online event will showcase the Amadeus business highlights as well as the solutions and services featured during the roadshow events.
