Amadeus Releases Time-Saving Tool

July 27, 2007 By: Jennifer Merritt Travel Agent

Amadeus has released Amadeus Ticket Changer, which claims to allow travel agents to change airline tickets in a matter of seconds, while still maintaining the right itinerary and the right fare. According to the Airline Tariff Publishing Company, on average 10 percent of issued tickets are changed--a task that can take a travel agent over a half an hour to do. Amadeus says its Ticket Changer takes the reissuing of ticket down from 15 steps to five: First, the new itinerary is booked, and then the original e-ticket is displayed. Next, the system retrieves ticket and fare information and calculates the prices of the new itinerary versus the old one. A travel document is prepared and payment is updated and finally, a new ticket is issued. Interested agents should call 888-AMADEUS or e-mail [email protected].
