AmEx Travel Introduces First-Time Cruiser Web Site

March 30, 2007 By: David Eisen Travel Agent

American Express Travel has launched a new web site aimed at educating novice cruisers. The site provides first-time cruisers or prospective cruisers with information on the cruise experience. The site is set up to attract new cruisers to travel agencies within the AmEx Travel Network by offering such features as videos, ship photos and advice on how to choose the right stateroom. Travelers can then book online or select the "click to chat" option, which puts a customer in direct, real-time contact with an AmEx Travel cruise specialist. Lynne Biggar, senior vice president and general manager, American Express Consumer Travel Network, says the focus is to educate the cruising customer, then have that customer contact a travel agent to make a booking.
