Princess Cruises’ Online Booking Engine Helps Agents

Princess Cruises has made enhancements to its Polar Online booking engine with two new features designed to streamline the booking process for travel agents. Now, agents can electronically apply a client’s future cruise sales deposit to their booking through Polar Online and, for agents associated with a consortium, can view a list of all available groups across the entire organization.

“Based on agent feedback, we’re continually innovating our technology to keep Polar Online the industry’s most useful booking tool available,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises executive vice president of sales, marketing and customer service. “These two newest enhancements were heavily requested features, and we’re pleased to add them to our suite of booking functions.”

With the new future cruise sales deposit feature, agents no longer need to call Princess when their clients want to use this incentive on their next cruise; instead, they can now view and apply the deposit conveniently through Polar Online. The fully commissionable future cruise sales deposits are purchased by passengers while onboard, and are applied to a future booking. The incentive includes a reduced deposit and onboard credit of up to $150. When future cruise sales deposits are made onboard, agents receive an immediate notification.

The new group feature will make it easier for agencies associated with consortia to view and plan groups online. Polar Online now shows primary, headquarters and/or consortia groups in addition to groups created by the agency itself. By seeing what groups the association agency has already set up, agencies can more efficiently use their group allotments.
