Sabre Delivers New Customer Profile System

September 7, 2011 By: George Dooley Travel Agent

Sabre Travel Network announced the global market release of Sabre Profiles, a profile system that provides greater security, structure and control for customer profile management. Through a user-friendly interface, Sabre Profiles allows travel agencies using the Sabre Red Workspace to efficiently manage and access customer data and easily incorporate it into the travel management process, Sabre reports.

Built in an open systems environment, Sabre Profiles utilizes a relational database, categorizing thousands of unique data elements and making it easy for agents to store, find and utilize customer profile information.

Noting that data security is of paramount importance to travel agencies, Sabre Profiles ensures that data is kept safe and secure, and that credit card data is stored and transacted in full compliance with current PCI standards.

Sabre Profiles gives travel agencies the flexibility to define their profile structure and ensures profile data is collected consistently and accurately. Advanced administrative capabilities provide agencies greater control over profile access and data management.

“For travel agencies, accurate and easily accessible customer information is critical to providing outstanding customer service, creating smart, efficient processes and fueling CRM systems,” said Chris Kroeger, senior vice president of Sabre Travel Network. “Sabre Profiles will quickly become one of the most important tools in our Sabre Red portfolio, helping agencies offer more personalized services and more relevant travel options that better meet travelers’ needs today and into the future."

With Sabre Profiles, agencies will be able to:

    •    Store an individual’s corporate and personal information in one profile and access relevant data during the booking process, eliminating the need for multiple profiles
    •    Create associations between profiles of corporate travelers or family members, allowing the agent to access related information depending upon the specific travel request
    •    Use expanded search capabilities to quickly access customer information, providing enhanced customer service and increased efficiency
    •    Use Sabre Web Services to integrate profile data with other agency and authorized third party applications
    •    Share profile data across online, offline and mobile channels
“Sabre Profiles is perfectly aligned to our strategy of secure and real-time portability of user data. The user interface presents naturally associated data, saving additional lookups. Along with filters, targeted profile information is presented at the appropriate time, vastly improving and de-cluttering agent workflow. The Web Services interface provides us with complete control and an improved method of integrating and exchanging profile information seamlessly, not just with Sabre, but with third party and other external systems as well,” said Thomas Ceramic, chief information officer for Ultramar Travel Management, a leading US-based travel management company.

Sabre Profiles is built upon proven technology and already houses more than 30 million traveler profiles, Sabre says. Sabre Airline Solutions began implementing the system with airline customers over a year ago. Additionally, a number of Sabre travel agency customers had already deployed Sabre Profiles using web services. Sabre Profiles is the latest enhancement to the Sabre Red Workspace and is available in both classic and graphical view.

After a global beta test earlier this year, Sabre began upgrading selected agencies from North America, EMEA, and Latin America to Sabre Profiles, which is replacing Sabre’s current profile management system, Stars. Upgrades will continue through 2013 at which time Sabre Stars will be sunset.

As upgrades continue in 2012, Sabre will also enable data sharing between Sabre Profiles and its leading CRM product, ClientBase, as well as its leading online business travel management solution, GetThere.
