VAX Releases Enhancements for Agents

Automated payments, improved hotel search and flight status updates are among the enhancements VAX VacationAccess attributes to its platform that were driven by agents – including independent agent – feedback and input.

“VAX is committed to having the most comprehensive tools to research, market and sell leisure travel. The enhancements to VAX for its 100,000+ travel agent users are designed to increase agent productivity, improve user experience and enhance capabilities,” VAX says.

VAX is the largest online platform for researching, marketing and selling leisure travel and gives vacation suppliers, cruise lines and destinations a variety of ways to reach qualified travel agents, including a large audience of home based agents. VAX develops innovative technology to help travel agents and agencies become more productive and profitable players in a highly competitive market. VAX says.

“Enhancements are driven by agent feedback and suggestions,” said Kathy Fitzpatrick, president of VAX VacationAccess. “Our success is driven by the success of our travel agent community, so our goal is to deliver the tools that they need to research, market and sell leisure travel in one easy to use platform.”

VAX reports that some of the productivity and user enhancements submitted by travel agents include:

• Addition of automated payments ensure agents don’t miss package due dates on reservations booked with a deposit, they can automate the final payment using this new functionality.

• Enhanced flight status updates in the reservation summary allow agents to check their customer’s flight status in the reservation summary – making it easy for them to service customers if a flight is cancelled or delayed.

• Improved hotel search results provide agents with more valuable insight when selecting hotel properties. Special symbols listed within the search results identify additional values and policies helping agents make more informed choices and could include special commission information, upgrade incentives, hotel benefit programs or more.

• Easier shopping for charter flights using indicators which help agents identify destinations where charters exist.
VAX VacationAccess said it seek agent feedback through surveys and an email box, [email protected], designed to collect ideas from customers.

“VAX is 100-percent committed to the travel agency channel and we are always looking for new ways to help them succeed,” said Fitzpatrick.
