Pattaya

Southeast Asia’s sunny paradise has options for every type of traveler

Pattaya, on the east coast of Thailand and just 90 miles away from Bangkok, is well known for its sunny beaches, wide variety of water sports, reasonably priced world-class resorts, exotic nightlife and great shopping facilities.

Dusit Thani Pattaya

Dusit Thani Pattaya offers outstanding views of the Gulf of Siam.

A short distance from Pattaya’s center of town, the exclusive all-suite Royal Wing & Spa is a tropical waterfront retreat, which boasts fabulous views of the Gulf of Siam and Royal Cliff Bay. The epitome of luxury, Royal Wing opened in 1986 and was fully renovated in 2001.

Request a Royal Wing Suite, which features a king-sized bed, a Jacuzzi bath, and two balconies with picturesque bay views. Families can opt for one of the three 2,360-square-foot Presidential Suites. Each suite has three bedrooms, a private living area, bathroom with Jacuzzi, flower-filled balconies, a private entrance, the service of private pool butlers, and a beach salas (Thai-styled open pavilion) with spectacular Royal Cliff Bay views.

All guests can access the Royal Wing Pool, set amid tropical gardens and serviced by butlers. Agents can book the suites via the Reservations Department (sekson@royalcliff.com or reservations@royalcliff.com).

Royal Wing & Spa Pool

The Royal Wing & Spa pool includes butler service for all guests.

Royal Wing & Spa is one of Royal Cliff Beach Resort’s four hotels, which offer a total of 1,090 rooms and suites. Since Royal Wing & Spa only has 85 suites, agents might also consider booking clients in one of the other Royal Cliff properties. Royal Cliff Beach Hotel is the largest of the four hotels and ideal for more budget-conscious travelers, the Royal Cliff Terrace is a favorite with honeymooners and families for its quiet secluded location, and The Royal Cliff Grand & Spa is suitable for business travelers.

For group bookings, the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel’s Mini-Suites, the Royal Cliff Grand & Spa’s Club Sea View Rooms, and Grand Club Sea View Rooms all offer stunning beach views.

Because the resort is only 25 miles away from U-Tapao Airport, the staff can help arrange for helicopters to land on one of its two helipads (one at the Royal Cliff Grand & Spa and the other at the resort’s Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall).

Known for blending Thailand traditions with western flair, the Cliff Spa has 18 treatment suites and features Guinot Paris, Pevonia, Dead Sea Premier and Thai herbal products. Request its signature Yin and Yang Massage. The Aromatherapy Full Body Massage and Royal Thai Massage are most popular with world travelers. It is recommended that spa treatments be reserved in advance (kamolthip@royalcliff.com or cliffspa@royalcliff.com). Sirima Soisaad and Suparat Deelert are the most requested masseuses. For extra requests, agents can contact Executive Director Vathanai Vathanakul (vathanai@royalcliff.com).

Can’t wait to take a gastronomic journey around the world? Try the international seafood and barbeque buffet or Saturday grand buffet at the resort’s Larn Thong & Terrace.

Chief Concierge Manit Yimvilai (66-3825-0421 ext 2914) is well known for fulfilling even the most obscure requests. If VIPs are arriving, your best contacts are Front Office Managers Guy Sukkasem at Royal Cliff Beach Hotel/Royal Cliff Terrace and Chaiyanan Boonyachalayont at Royal Wing & Spa (both can be reached via 66-3825-0421).

Royal Wing & Spa Suite

Royal Wing & Spa suites offer king beds, Jacuzi and two balconies.

The year-end period is a busy time at the resort, and one should book two to three months ahead to secure a confirmed reservation. The resort also boasts annual Opera Nights and popular Thai cooking classes at its Royal Cliff School of Thai Culinary Arts.
