Tourism Authority of Thailand Aids Stranded Passengers

December 1, 2008 By: Travel Agent Central Contributor

The suspension of services at Suvarnabhumi International Airport inconvenienced more than 3,000 passengers due to political protests.

Thailand's Ministry of Tourism and Sports, in cooperation with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Tourism Council of Thailand (TCT), Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA) and Thai Hotels Association (THA), transferred remaining stranded passengers to the Regent Suvarnabhumi Hotel, Twin Towers Hotel, IBIS Hotel, Eastin Hotel, The Centric Ratchada, Ambassador Hotel Bangkok.

The Rose Garden Riverside Hotel, the Hotel Sofitel Centara and Grand Bangkok have been welcoming guests who checked out from the hotel and cannot fly to their home country and passengers who flew with Thai Airways International have been accommodated by the carrier. Other tourists and travellers who cannot travel to their destination until the airport reopens have been provided accommodation and meals.

Contact ATTA at 011-66-2-237-6064-8 or 011-66-2-632-7400-2.
