Adventures by Disney Introduces Egypt Among 20 New Trips

Muizz Street, CairoThis July, Adventures by Disney has opened up booking for 20 itineraries, including eight- and 10-day excursions in Egypt, in 2011. Starting and ending in Cairo through the Nile River and the Valley of Kings, travelers can enjoy the benefits of a Disney "Signature Trip" that includes concierge service from the two Adventure Guides on hand, accommodation upgrades, VIP gifts and private airport transfers.

The eight-day Egypt trip will open with a welcome dinner and three days in Cairo. Besides the popular Great Pyramids and Sphinx complex, guests can visit the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities and Citadel of Saladin, step into Great Mosque of Mohammed Ali and wander the Khan el-Khalili market. Accompanied by a licensed Egyptologist in the capital and during on a three-day cruise along the Nile, guests will embark on a traditional sailing ship (felucca) to travel to the Valley of Kings to visit the tombs of pharaohs Tutankhamen and Ramses VI. Then, the voyage will wrap up for a final night in Cairo, including a farewell banquet.

The 10-day trip will add two days after the Nile cruise. In the resort city of Sharm el Sheikh, at the top of the Sinai Peninsula, guests can snorkel among tropical fish and coral reefs of the Red Sea. Guests of both trips will get the chance to ride a camel at the Great Pyramids, enjoy local music, belly dancing and dancing (dervishes) and learn about making papyrus, writing hieroglypics and Egyptian dress.
