Funjet Vacations Unveils New Wellness Product

Funjet Vacations has recently added a brand new feature to their product line-up. So, naturally, we wanted to get the scoop.

Travel Agent spoke with Kerri Loduha, program manager for Funjet Vacations' new Destination Wellness Program.

"Our company likes to focus on wellness for employees, with an emphasis on core values," Loduha told us. "One of our core values is our customers. We wanted to bring together both wellness and our customers to create a new product."

Destination Wellness is the vision of David Pritchard, a leader in the health and fitness industry for 20 years. His program takes travelers on one, three- or six-day Destination Wellness programs to El Dorado Royale or El Dorado Casitas Royale, by Karisma in the Riviera Maya.

"We have a close partnership with El Dorado and thought that this would be a great place to kick off the program, given their resorts and offerings," says Loduha.

The price for packages ranges from $200-$1,000 per person. Each participant will work with a Wellness Concierge, who is dedicated to crafting the Wellness Plan participant through the journey.

The one-day plan gives travelers a comprehensive introduction to the program along with the choice of two specialized classes: a Wellness Concierge and one one-hour private training session with a Destination Wellness personal trainer.

The three-day plan is offered for $500 and offers unlimited access to specialized classes for three days, a Wellness Concierge, two one-hour private training sessions, choice of a third session with a trainer or a 45-minute sport massage, nutrition consultation and a welcome gift basket.

For the wellness enthusiast, we suggest opting for the six-day plan, which weighs in at $1,000 per person. It includes all of the activities and products in the three-day program, plus unlimited access to specialized classes for six days and one additional one-hour private training session with a personal trainer.

As of now the program is only offered at these two resorts, but Loduha tells us that expansion is the ultimate goal. "This is very, very new. We need to play it out and see how it works in order to put it in other places, but that is definitely in our plan."

Along those lines, Destination Wellness is its own entity within the family-owned Mark Travel Corporation, of which Funjet Vacations is the flagship brand. In the future, Destination Wellness plans to open up their services to other tour operators.

"I think the biggest thing to take away from the program is individualization," says Loduha. "This program is not just fitness-focused. There is a balance between fitness and nutrition and we focus on individualizing each experience to our customers."
